We have just visited the gardens with a guided tour of the downstairs of the house. 18/12/23
The whole experience was great!
Well organised with a knowledgeable guide who made the tour fascinating.
Looking forward to going back in the summer to see the rest of the house.
We always enjoy visiting Deene Park Snowdrops and Deene Dusk was our first visiting the house and we enjoyed it so much, the mulled wine and the mince pies were so delicious and will definitely come again in February for Snowdrops season.
Thank you,
Betty and Richard Roswell
Amazing place with lovely staff and guides.
We loved our visit which took place on a day of heavy rain, so unfortunately, we only had a quick view of the gardens close to the house, but they were beautiful. The house has so much history, is very well maintained and has a homely feel. The guides were very helpful. We enjoyed our pre-visit time in the tea room, with delicious home-made scones and cakes.
Well worth visiting. A lot of history, particularly Charge of the Light Brigade. Family connections to Yorkshire. See how the rich and famous lived.
The friendly informality of the welcome we received on our arrival at the entrance to the house struck the keynote for our visit: we were from the start made to feel, if not at home! then very much at ease as we made our way from room to beautiful room. We had as much time as we liked to contemplate the fine art, the historical architectural features and the wealth of artefacts. We came away with the strong reminder (previous visit c. 50 years ago!) that Deene Park is no museum but a glorious example of living family history.
A grand, very unique house worth looking round as there is lots of impressive artwork. Unfortunately, you can't take photos in the house as there are still people living there. There are lovely grounds and gardens to walk around.
A splendid relaxed venue. It was particularly nice to briefly meet the lady of the house who I thought was most charming, I was the astronomer chap in the canoe shirt. A beautiful house made all the more memorable for feeling genuinely lived in.
